Science-Animals-Fish

In Science, we learnt about fish, in particular parts of a fish and how it differs to other animals. We made our own 3D fish.

Science-Animals-Amphibians

As part of our learning about amphibians, we made webbed feet to learn about how important they are for swimming. We tested our webbed feet in water compared to no webbed feet and noticed how the water is forced back more with the webbed feet.

Shapes in the environment

As part of learning about shapes in Maths, we explored our outdoor learning area looking for shapes. We found circles, triangles, rectangles, squares and octagons.

Outdoor learning

We have been enjoying taking part in a range of outdoor activities, including construction, dinosaurs in the small world, musical performances on the stage, drawing, water play and caring for the babies.

Computing

The children have been developing their ICT skills by mastering the mousepad and exploring the creative tools on paintz.app to draw and write digitally. They’ve also taken their first exciting steps into coding using Rodocodo, where they create sequences of commands to guide a character around the screen – bringing their instructions to life!

Animals including Humans Unit 1

The children explored the human body through the song ‘Heads, Shoulders, Knees and Toes’ and hands-on labelling activities. They then developed their understanding of the five senses: sight, sound, touch, smell and taste. We made pipe cleaner models of our sense organs. To encourage ownership of their learning, a different child was selected each week […]
