At the Abbey Primary School we will always endeavour to keep the school open, however on occasion severe weather, a public emergency or unforeseen circumstances may make it necessary for a school to close or partially close.
In order to ensure you are informed as quickly as possible of anything that may have an impact on a normal school day, we will be using Schoolcomms to email parents and guardians. Please notify the school office of any changes to contact information. The website will also be updated.
With this in mind, if you think the school may be closed due to severe weather conditions, please check your emails and follow the guidance below
If we are still open:
- Please walk to school if it is safe and practical to do so.
- If you have to drive, please drive safely and park away from the school to avoid congestion, taking care not to obstruct driveways.
If we are closed:
- Stay safe and have fun.
- Keep checking your emails and Google Classroom for updates.
