Year 6 have spent the past two days designing and constructing playground structures in their D&T lessons. The design brief specified that they had to be safe, fun, and interactive and they then used their imaginations to bring them to life. They were given a selection of materials to use which included wood, straws, cardboard, string, fabric and foil.
Our Site Manager, Mr Astley, very kindly gave up his time to come into class to teach the children how to cut the wood they needed and was so impressed with their initiative, focus and safe handling of the equipment involved. The children demonstrated real teamwork as they helped one another to saw the wood and construct their models using glue guns and the finished structures are incredible! They will be on display in the learning hub for all to see.
Huge thanks to Mr Astley for giving up his time to help Year 6.
